Matt Aaron Handmade Friction Folder
Matt Aaron Handmade Friction Folder
From the time his family friend Wally introduced him to blacksmithing at the age of eleven, Matt Aaron has had a soft spot in his heart for metalworking. Summers spent visiting the shop lead to Matt gaining a fair bit of knowledge of blacksmithing and knifemaking.
He took a few years off to climb the corporate ladder but Matt Aaron is back in the shop, making handmade, custom knives and tools the old-fashioned way. This Steel Jacketed Friction Folder is a great example of his work and craftsmanship.
Thought to be one of the first folding knives ever made, the friction folder is as simple as it gets. No lock or fancy machining to hide behind here - just hand-formed steel. The 52100 blade has a unique coiled tang that works perfectly as a thumb rest while opened.
If you couldn't tell by the shape of the blade and handle, Matt designed this knife in Nick Rossi fashion, heavily influenced by his designs. This friction folder is non-locking, so you can rest assured that it is legal to carry in most jurisdictions (although, you should still check).
